El agotamiento emocional, en cambio, generalmente se instala gradualmente, casi silenciosamente, hasta que parece formar parte de tu rutina. Y sin que te des cuenta, lo que era solo una respuesta temporal al estr\u00e9s empieza a parecer parte de tu personalidad.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el agotamiento emocional?<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>El agotamiento emocional puede surgir cuando las exigencias emocionales se vuelven persistentes y superan la capacidad de recuperaci\u00f3n del cuerpo.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u00bfSabes cuando llega esa \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o en la que el trabajo exige m\u00e1s atenci\u00f3n y a\u00fan m\u00e1s horas, mientras que tus hijos necesitan cuidados adicionales y tu rutina te lleva al l\u00edmite? Poco a poco, te das cuenta de que vives en un estado de alerta constante: preocupado, estresado y tratando de manejarlo todo a la vez. Es entonces cuando puede aparecer el agotamiento emocional.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Seg\u00fan la psic\u00f3loga estadounidense Christina Maslach, una de las principales expertas en el s\u00edndrome de burnout, el agotamiento emocional se caracteriza por:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>una sensaci\u00f3n persistente de agotamiento emocional<sup>1<\/sup>;<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>no sentirse recuperado tras periodos de descanso<sup>1<\/sup>;<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>una menor capacidad para afrontar los retos diarios<sup>1<\/sup>;<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>una sensaci\u00f3n de agotamiento emocional<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>La psic\u00f3loga tambi\u00e9n destaca que el agotamiento emocional es uno de los principales componentes del s\u00edndrome de burnout psicol\u00f3gico<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Cuando el ser se convierte en ser<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>La Psicolog\u00eda explica que nuestras emociones, comportamientos y pensamientos est\u00e1n influenciados por nuestra historia de vida, el contexto en el que nos desenvolvemos y nuestras condiciones de vida.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Sin embargo, cuando experimentamos un estado durante mucho tiempo, empezamos a interpretarlo como un rasgo de personalidad. Y este error es muy com\u00fan: confundir estado emocional con identidad. Por ejemplo, una persona deprimida puede parecer desinteresada en la vida. Una persona agotada puede ser etiquetada como antisocial.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Cuanto m\u00e1s tiempo permanecemos en un estado emocional determinado, mayor es la tendencia a creer que describe qui\u00e9nes somos, y no solo lo que estamos experimentando.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Indicadores de sobrecarga emocional<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Irritabilidad: \u00bfAlguna vez has sentido que todo te molesta? Esto puede ser una se\u00f1al de sobrecarga emocional. Los problemas que ser\u00edan peque\u00f1os parecen enormes, lidiar con las frustraciones se vuelve m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil y terminas exagerando tu reacci\u00f3n ante los conflictos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Seg\u00fan investigaciones en neurociencia, el estr\u00e9s cr\u00f3nico reduce nuestra capacidad para regular las emociones y aumenta la reactividad emocional. Por lo tanto, aunque es f\u00e1cil pensar que la persona se ha vuelto m\u00e1s irritable, en realidad puede estar bajo una tensi\u00f3n continua<sup>2,3<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Apat\u00eda: otro signo com\u00fan de sobrecarga es la apat\u00eda, esa falta de inter\u00e9s en cualquier cosa, ya sea el trabajo, los pasatiempos o incluso las conversaciones. Pero lo que parece pereza es en realidad un intento del cuerpo por preservar sus recursos f\u00edsicos y emocionales.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de largos per\u00edodos de estr\u00e9s o exigencia emocional, el cuerpo se organiza para conservar energ\u00eda. Por lo tanto, la falta de entusiasmo, el desinter\u00e9s por actividades que antes resultaban placenteras, es en realidad agotamiento emocional<sup>4<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Dificultad para conectar con los dem\u00e1s: cuando la energ\u00eda emocional se agota, resulta dif\u00edcil conectar con la gente, precisamente porque esto requiere energ\u00eda emocional. Esto provoca que la persona sea percibida como fr\u00eda y distante.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Pero esto no significa que haya dejado de gustarle la gente. Simplemente significa que, en ese momento, su energ\u00eda emocional est\u00e1 reducida<sup>4<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Falta de energ\u00eda: \u00bfsabes cuando duermes toda la noche y te despiertas agotado? \u00bfTe falta energ\u00eda para cualquier actividad? Esto no es pereza ni falta de fuerza de voluntad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>El agotamiento emocional y el estr\u00e9s prolongado pueden comprometer temporalmente las funciones ejecutivas como la atenci\u00f3n, la planificaci\u00f3n, la memoria de trabajo, la toma de decisiones y el control inhibitorio. Esto ayuda a explicar por qu\u00e9 las tareas sencillas requieren mucho m\u00e1s esfuerzo de lo habitual, incluso cuando se desea realizarlas <sup>5,6<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>La normalizaci\u00f3n del agotamiento<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Actualmente, la cultura valora la productividad por encima de todo. Es necesario ser productivo, estar siempre disponible; se nos exige cada vez m\u00e1s y se espera que siempre rindamos al m\u00e1ximo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Por lo tanto, en estas situaciones, frases como \u00aboh, pero es normal estar cansado\u00bb, \u00abtodo el mundo est\u00e1 cansado\u00bb, \u00abno pasa nada, descansar\u00e9 despu\u00e9s\u00bb son m\u00e1s frecuentes, pero enmascaran el sufrimiento emocional.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Y no podemos normalizar esto. Porque es en este punto donde lo que es un problema se define err\u00f3neamente como un rasgo de personalidad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Desde la publicaci\u00f3n de la CIE-11 en 2019, la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ha clasificado el agotamiento como un fen\u00f3meno laboral relacionado con el estr\u00e9s cr\u00f3nico en el trabajo que no se gestion\u00f3 con \u00e9xito se define por tres caracter\u00edsticas: una sensaci\u00f3n de agotamiento o estr\u00e9s, mayor distanciamiento mental del trabajo y menor eficacia profesional<sup>7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Conclusi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>La personalidad se define por patrones relativamente equilibrados de pensamiento, sentimiento y acci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n depende del contexto.
